This month the year 6 pupils have been making 3-D models of Viking longships. They were each given a blank template of an actual longship, which they had to colour in and then they had to cut these out very carefully. Next, everyone had to staple the sides together and punch holes where the oars needed to be placed. The oars were added, then they had to create and design their own shields to be stuck on to the sides of the boats. Finally, everyone had to design a dragon’s head for the prow of the boat and, stick on the actual Viking characters that they were given. Everyone enjoyed doing this (hopefully) and the results were fabulous!!!
