World Book Day!
Dear Parent/Guardian,
World Book Day takes place on Thursday 2nd March 2023, and we would like to invite you to join us in helping your child to make the most of this special occasion. World Book Day celebrates the joy and value of books and reading, especially for children. To celebrate World Book Day on Thursday 2nd March we are encouraging the children to come to school dressed as their favourite book character. Please note, you do not need to go and buy something new.
Children can simply wear an item of clothing or bring a prop that their favourite book character would wear/use. Each class in school will also be dedicating part of their day to World Book Day, by carrying out a class based activity celebrating reading and books. Over the past six years the school has invested substantial money into the guided reading book schemes that are used throughout the school. This year, on World Book Day we would like to appeal for your aid to support further investment in this area by requesting that each child donate £2 (with a maximum of £4 per family) which will go towards purchasing new reading materials. We really appreciate your support with this and we also encourage you to continue building your child’s enthusiasm for books well beyond World Book Day.
Following World Book Day, every child will also receive a special World Book Day book.
Please complete the online form, before Thursday 16th February, to indicate which book your child would prefer. The link to the form was sent via text message, is available on the school website or you can click below. https://forms.office.com/e/WZRpahjyDZ
Yours sincerely
