Poppy Art in SPL2
On Remembrance Day, 11th November, SPL2 remembered all those who had lost their lives during the Wars. As we are learning about World War 2, this was especially important for our topic. We learnt about what the Poppy symbolizes. Did you know there are different colours of Poppies? We chose our favourite to make out of tissue paper and placed them onto a photograph of our hand. Some of us chose a red poppy; remembering those who fought for our freedom during the Wars. Some of us chose a purple poppy; remembering the animals who worked for the soldiers during the wars. Others chose a white poppy which is a symbol of Peace in the hope that all wars will end. In the afternoon we created a poppy field using oil pastels and water colour paints. We love our art and enjoy seeing it displayed in our classroom and corridor.
