The Y5 children were tapping into their inner engineer to create a Rube Goldberg machine. Using recycled materials, they created simple machines such as inclined planes, levers and pulleys to create a chain reaction. Will their falling dominoes set a ball rolling? Can they make a pulley using string and a paper cup? How will they get their ball into the basket?
This creative STEM challenge was lots of fun as the children made fabulous machines that did a simple task in a complicated way!
