SPSC2 followed up our Sports Day with Olympian David Ames by looking at the long jump record of 8.95m held by Mike Powell.
We went outside and did several long jumps from a standing start, measured them using a metre stick and tape measure, and totalled them up using a calculator until we were around his record of 895cm.
Noah and Zara matched it after 6 jumps; Jamie, Adam and Byron reached it in 9 jumps and Luke took 10 jumps.
There may be some future Olympians in the making!
