Year 7 have been learning all about flight. They also read the novel Dear Olly and heard the stories of three characters: Olly, Hero and Matt. Hero is a swallow that makes a long and treacherous journey from the UK to Rwanda in Africa. As Year 7 were learning all about birds and why they migrate, they were given the challenge of designing a board game to see who could be the first to get their bird from the UK to Africa. Of course, there were obstacles and benefits along the way and the children had to decide how these could be incorporated into their game. The end results were amazing, and the children had a lot of fun playing their games.
